Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Temporary Dental Hygienist to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional dental care to patients and assist the dentist during procedures. Your main responsibilities will include conducting dental cleanings, taking X-rays, educating patients on oral hygiene, and performing preventive treatments. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental X-rays as necessary
- Ensure that all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained
- Educate patients on good oral hygiene practices and methods for plaque control
- Administer topical fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants
- Identify and document any abnormalities or changes in patients' oral health
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and providing suction
- Update patient charts and maintain accurate records of treatments performed
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to ensure efficient operation of the dental office
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene or related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
- Valid state license to practice dental hygiene
- Current CPR certification
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist
- Proficient in using dental software and X-ray equipment
- Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, techniques, and tools
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain thorough and accurate patient records
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with dental professionals
