Ortho Assistant

Department: Orthodontics
Location: Henderson, NV

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ortho Assistant to join our team part time. The Ortho Assistant will work under the supervision and guidance of orthodontists to provide excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional orthodontic treatment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist orthodontists in providing treatment to patients, including preparing the treatment area, taking and developing dental x-rays, and performing other necessary procedures.
- Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take impressions and prepare trays for the fabrication of orthodontic appliances.
- Assist with the placement and removal of orthodontic brackets, bands, and wires.
- Provide general support to the orthodontic team, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient flow.
- Stay updated on advancements in orthodontic care and techniques through continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; certification in dental assisting is preferred.
- Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of orthodontic terminology, procedures, and materials.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Proficient in the use of dental software and digital imaging systems.
