Ortho Assistant

Department: Orthodontics
Location: Akron, OH

Our dental office in Akon is growing!

We are seeking a highly motivated orthodontic assistant with a great attitude who is fun, detail oriented, compassionate and loves treating children to join our state of the art, modern practice.

We have a beautiful office with an energetic team, the latest technology, and a diverse patient base. Responsibilities:

  • Preparing patients and treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures
  • Sterilizing instruments, and proper cleaning of treatment rooms
  • Assist the Orthodontist as needed
  • Take PVS impressions/scans and bite registrations for Aligner treatment.
  • Perform x-rays as needed
  • Scheduling patients for follow up treatment and adjustment appointments
  • Lab duties as instructed
  • Perform bonding, adjustments, rebonds, retainer checks and debands
  • Removal of fixed bands/brackets
  • Ligature and wire removal and replacement.
  • Size, fit, and cement orthodontic bands
  • Conduct post-treatment procedures, as instructed by the Orthodontist.
  • Effectively communicate with patients/parents regarding: POH, rubberband wear, treatment progress, and cooperation.
  • Stock operatories and maintain clinical supply inventory.
  • Clean and disinfect between patients and deep clean office and operatories as needed.

Requirements:

  • Current dental assisting certification
  • Minimum of 1yr in orthodontics
  • X-Ray Certificate
  • Compliance with all health & safety regulations and state dental practice requirements.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization methods.
  • Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to build rapport with others.
  • Well-organized, detail oriented and reliable.
  • Ability to demonstrate high ethical standards.
  • CPR certified
  • Bilingual Preferred

Pay: Competitive wages + Monthly bonus potential
