Dental Assistant, EFDA/EDDA

Department: Clinical
Location: Pueblo, CO

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant with an EFDA/EDDA certification to join our Pueblo based team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our dental providers to deliver excellent patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and providing support to both patients and dental staff.

Qualifications:
- Valid EFDA/EDDA certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role
- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills, including dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)

Responsibilities:
- Assist dental providers during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring a seamless flow of patient care
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize and arrange instruments, and ensure dental supplies are well-stocked
- Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, making them feel comfortable and answering any questions they may have
- Take and develop dental x-rays and intraoral photos as required
- Perform basic dental procedures such as orthodontic banding, suture removal, and fluoride application
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting treatment plans, procedures performed, and changes in medical history
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and handle equipment maintenance as needed
- Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow

Hourly Rate: $18-20
