Our beautiful and modern dental office located in Huntsville, Alabama is looking for a highly motivated Dental Hygienist to join our team. We are looking for a team member with a great attitude who is compassionate and loves treating children!

We are looking for someone who can work part-time or full-time. The candidate must be able to provide proof of an active Alabama Hygiene License and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination.
• Obtain a complete and up to date medical history prior to treatment.
• Sterilize dental instruments correctly.
• Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history.
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis.
• Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque, calculus or apply fluoride).
• Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care. (e.g. demonstrating good brushing and flossing techniques).
• Give instructions to patients after dental procedures.
• Take X-rays.
• Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer).
• Maintain documentation and charts on each patient.
• Work directly with dental hygiene assistants.
• Monitor supplies.

Skills

• Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA).
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• A patient and friendly personality.
• Attention to detail.
• Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job.
• Valid Alabama Hygiene License.
• CPR certification.
