Job Summary

The incredible team at Sunshine Dental  is seeking a General or Pediatric Dentist to treat the great community of Sumter in our kid friendly dental practice.
This is a part-time position 
Our entire pediatric dentistry team loves kids, and our top priority is making sure they have a positive visit, or what we call Kidsperience. The practice is friendly and fun where kids (and parents) genuinely enjoy their visit!!!

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and their guardians in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Provide a clean and professional environment for all patients.
  • Effectively answer patient and guardianís questions and address any concerns.
  • Thoroughly educate patients and guardians about oral hygiene and health.
  • Effectively communicate with Dental Assistant and/or Hygienist regarding patient care and concerns.
  • Effectively handle, direct and/or resolve patient complaints in a timely manner. Refer patients to an appropriate specialist or general dentist when necessary.
  • Thoroughly and efficiently perform clinical dentistry functions.
  • Thoroughly diagnose patientsí dental needs and formulate individualized treatment plans.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of patient charts which includes medical history, existing conditions and previous dental work.
  • Provide treatment to manage and/or eliminate dental disease, restore tooth function and aesthetics, and prevent future disease and/or decay.
  • Utilize generally accepted behavior modification techniques that are kind and respectful to the patient and guardian.
  •  Provide treatment that is scientifically proven, and evidence based.
  • Consider the patientís individual risk factors when making clinical decisions.
  • Offer special needs or disabled patients hospital-based options where appropriate.
  • Meet or exceed quality standards established by Lone Peak Dental Group.
  • Complies with all office, local, state and American Dental Association regulations, protocols and procedures.

Position Requirements

  • D.D.S. or D.M.D. from a school accredited by Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and American Dental Association
  • A specialty certificate in Pediatric dentistry
  • Board eligible in specialty, with actual board credentials preferred
  • Licensed to practice in state
  • Certification in CPR
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Compassionate and caring of patients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
